Back Then

“Back Then” By B Story

“I understand you’re worried.

This doesn’t feel the same.

But I won’t give up

I’ll try my best

To see, to see, to see…

I don’t want to be sorry;

I don’t want to give in;

I just want to remember what it was like

back then…”

Noisy Mind? Yeah. Me too. But it’s okay. At least it WILL be. : ]

“It’s silent tonight. I’m trying to wrap my head around if everything will be alright…”

-The Rocket Summer

Do you ever feel like that? I sure do. …Or else this post wouldn’t be happening. Hah. :P

But there’s something to be said for those familiar sayings: “blessed assurance” and “peace that transcends all understandings.”

It really does. I don’t know how I’m not pulling my hair out right now. I don’t understand why, but I’ve got peace. I’ve got assurance.

I have my worries, yes. Yes. Yes. YES.  In a big way.

BUT… simultaneously, I can take a step back and breathe. And remember Him telling me “those who who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

I remember Him telling me that He’s “working all things together for the good of those who love Him.”

You don’t have to wrap your head around whether or not it’s all going to be alright. It will be. If you love Him. Rest your head in His lap and pray that He’d give you the grace to love Him more with each sunrise.

I’m not sure who said this, but I love this quote:

Sleep…Sleep

Baby, sleep.

Life is long.

Love is deep.

Goodnight, friends. May God calm your hearts, quiet your minds and salvage your souls from the terror and filth which they are so wounded by.

Love always,

Twenty2

 it is well with my soul

I’ll Let Go The Need To Know Why

“I thought I did what’s right
I thought I had the answers
I thought I chose the surest road
But that road brought me here
So I put up a fight
And told you how to help me
Now just when I have given up
The truth is coming clear
You know better than I
You know the way
I’ve let go the need to know why
For you know better than I
If this has been a test
I cannot see the reason
But maybe knowing I don’t know
Is part of getting through
I try to do what’s best
And faith has made it easy
To see the best thing I can do
Is put my trust in you
For You know better than I
You know the way
I’ve let go the need to know why
For you know better than I
I saw one cloud and thought it was a sky
I saw a bird and thought that I could follow
But it was you who taught that bird to fly
If I let you reach me will you teach me
For You know better than I
You know the way
I’ve let go the need to know why
I’ll take what answers you supply
You know better than I”

Child, when life don’t seem worth living…

“Come to Jesus” by Mindy Smith

2 Corinthians 1:3-11

New International Version (NIV)

Praise to the God of All Comfort

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

Far From Home

“Far From Home” by The Classic Crime… Great song.

___
All I have is words
To which I’m a slave
I scribble them down,
hoping they’ll save me,
but I’m lost
I’m so lost

These pages will burn
and I’ll pass away
Yesterday’s gone
and I just can’t shake
the fact that I’m lost
I’m so lost

Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken

One of my very favorite Hymns…

“Jesus, I My Cross Have Taken”

Jesus, I my cross have taken,
All to leave and follow Thee;
  Destitute, despised, forsaken,
Thou, from hence, my all shalt be.
  Perish every fond ambition,
All I’ve sought, and hoped, and known;
  Yet how rich is my condition,
God and Christ are still my own!

Let the world despise and leave me,
They have left my Savior, too;
  Human hearts and looks deceive me;
Thou art not, like man, untrue;
  And, while Thou shalt smile upon me,
God of wisdom, love, and might,
  Foes may hate, and friends disown me;
Show Thy face, and all is bright.

Man may trouble and distress me,
‘Twill but drive me to Thy breast;
  Life with trials hard may press me,
Christ will bring me sweeter rest.
  O ’tis not in grief to harm me,
While Thy love is left to me;
  O ’twere not in joy to charm me,
Were that joy unmixed with Thee.

Haste then on from grace to glory,
Armed by faith and winged by prayer;
  God’s eternal day’s before thee,
God’s own hand shall guide thee there.
  Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
Swift shall pass thy pilgrim days,
  Hope shall change to glad fruition,
Faith to sight, and prayer to praise.
